CellarPro 1800H-HE Houdini wine cooling units deliver 1900 BTUH total / 1505 BTUH sensible capacity at 55F, providing 1/4-ton cooling for shallow-depth glass-enclosed wine cellars using appropriate sizing assumptions.* Designed specifically for modern glass wine displays, the 1800H-HE Houdini combines a compact, low-profile design with flexible airflow configurations, making it ideal for installations where standard cooling units are too deep or visually intrusive. This upgraded HE model features a powerful low-GWP compressor, upgraded EC fans, longer-lasting aluminum coils and robust components engineered for demanding glass-cellar installations.
Just 10 1/2 inches deep and 10 inches tall, the 1800H-HE Houdini is designed to sit inside the cellar, atop the cellar, partially in the cellar ceiling or remotely from the cellar with approved ducting. Dual independent variable-speed EC fans provide flexibility to balance quiet operation with maximum cooling performance.
For example, using the following assumptions, the 1800H-HE Houdini would be sized appropriately for the following applications*:
Proper construction with a vapor barrier,
R13 insulation in the non-glass walls, ceiling and floor,
75F ambient temperature surrounding the cellar, and
No ducting

CellarPro 1800H-HE Houdini cooling units are self-contained, fully charged units designed to be attached to the ceiling inside the cellar, installed above the cellar or located remotely from the cellar with approved ducting.
1800H-HE Houdini units are designed specifically for shallow-depth glass wine cellars, with a compact, low-profile design that allows the cooling unit to “disappear” inside or atop the cellar.
Bottle probe required: bottle probe for use in liquid must be used with Houdini cooling units
1800H-HE Houdini units can be located remotely from the cellar with the addition of one of our cold-side duct packages. Offered with or without insulated flex ducting, our cold-side duct packages allow these cooling units to be ducted up to 50 equivalent feet(25′ per duct). Cold-side ducting must be insulated and 8-inch or greater from start to finish.
When calculating equivalent feet, each 90-degree turn counts for 8 feet.
For remote or inaccessible installations, we offer a remote display kit that can be wired to the cooling unit and allows the digital display to be mounted inside or outside the cellar.
1800H-HE Houdini units require fresh air intake without interference from the unit’s hot air exhaust. The fresh air intake must come from outside the wine cellar and should be within a range of 40F to 95F.
If sufficient space does not exist to provide fresh air, or if the hot air exhaust cannot dissipate properly, you may need one of our approved hot-side duct packages.
When ducted on the hot side without an auxiliary inline fan, the 1800H-HE Houdini supports up to 50 equivalent feet(25′ per duct) with required 6-inch ducting.
When ducted on the hot side with an auxiliary inline fan, the 1800H-HE Houdini supports up to 100 equivalent feet(50′ per duct) with required 6-inch ducting.
High fan speed is required for ducted installations, and auxiliary fans should never be used on the cold side.
CellarPro OEM duct hoods must be used for ducted installations, otherwise warranty coverage will be voided.
The cold side of the cooling unit should never be exposed to temperatures below 32F.
A CellarPro cooling unit must always be used in the upright position, and should never be operated on its side or upside down.
All air-cooled refrigeration equipment requires fresh air intake to dissipate the heat generated by the cooling unit. The fresh air intake cannot come from the wine cellar space — it must come from space outside the cellar.
Variable-speed EC fans with independent control provide maximum flexibility and versatility, allowing customers to choose between quieter operation and maximum cooling performance based on the cellar design, installation type and cooling load.
R-290 Compressor: delivers powerful cooling performance with lower energy use and environmentally friendly refrigerant.
Features energy-efficient EC fans on both the cold and hot sides.
Dual high-output fans include independent variable-speed settings, allowing customers to choose between maximum cooling power at high fan speed or super-quiet operation at low fan speed.
High fan speed is required for ducted installations.
The unit requires fresh air intake from outside the wine cellar. If the unit’s location does not provide sufficient room for hot air exhaust to dissipate and/or fresh air to be provided, an approved hot-side duct package may be required.
Designed for indoor use only, the unit must be installed in an area above 32F, and the cold side of the cooling unit should never be exposed to temperatures below 32F.
Adjustable humidity control combines a high-output compressor with flexible fan cycles to maintain a recommended level of moisture inside your cellar.
Custom coils generate maximum cooling power inside the cellar.
Now with coated aluminum evaporator coils, which help resist formicary corrosion, the leading cause of cooling unit failure.
Excess condensate is managed with a high-capacity stainless-steel condensate pan and 100W electric heating element.
The intuitive LED display panel with digital programmable thermostat is simple and easy to use. A remote thermostat is available as an upgrade.
Bottle probe is included as standard equipment and must be used in a bottle with liquid with 1800H-HE Houdini cooling units.
Reusable filter is included with non-ducted units.
Energy-saver mode, quick-chill mode and auto-defrost cycle provide convenient solutions to common cellar needs.
Temperature set point range is 51F to 62F when the cooling unit is properly sized.
Unit operates with minimal vibrations and less noise than comparable units from competitors.
Audible and visual alarms and maintenance-needed indicator protect the cooling unit and the wine cellar.
With dual power sources and a 10-foot power cord, the unit can be plugged into a receptacle from either the rear or right side of the cooling unit, providing flexibility for most installations.
A common dedicated 15-amp circuit is required to power the unit.
Mounting brackets, included as standard equipment, ensure easy installation.
Removable steel case provides access to the internal components for servicing and repair.
CellarPro’s 5-Year Standard Warranty, the most thorough in the industry, protects the unit against manufacturing defects.
An optional Extended Warranty (P/N 1836) is available for additional protection.
ETL Tested and Certified to rigorous UL Standards for safety.
1900 SENSIBLE BTUH @ 55F. CellarPro 1800H-ECX Cooling Unit (P/N 25544). CellarPro’s 1800H-ECX cooling unit (1/8 Ton Nominal) is the first cooling unit designed specifically for shallow-depthglass-enclosed wine cellars, and uses energy-efficient variable-speed EC fans for maximum performance.
The BTU/h value shown here is a theoretical number. There are often circumstances under which a cellar design may require a larger unit due to variables not accounted for in the formula. For example, these variables could be building materials (such as glass, stone, concrete, etc.)
Which do not offer the insulation capacity required to maintain the optimal cellar environment. We recommend purchasing a unit with a larger capacity to compensate for these unaccounted-for variables. An undersized unit can lead to premature failure and will most likely prevent the cellar from reaching your desired temperature.
